About my artwork;
                                   Most of my pastel paintings are done on art spectrum paper. This paper has a fine sandpaper surface which enables the pastel to grip to the surface. I use Faber Castel pitt pastel pencils as well as a range of quality soft pastels including  Art Spectrum, Windor Newton, Rembrandt and Schmincke.

Most of my portraits are made up of many layers of pastel, finished with a layer of soft delicate strokes to acheive the desired finish.

Composition, colour and "the mood" of the work is carefully considered upon each new painting.

Canson paper is also a wonderful pastel paper to work on, providing a smooth surface for paintings that require less layering.

Pencil paintings are worked on  drafting film. This is a plastic film which brings up the colour beautifully. The pencils I use are prismacolours. These are a wax based pencil for professional artwork.

Recently I have been experimenting with watercolours. The soft flow from paint to paper is a lovely change from the pastels. So my pastels have been a bit dormant lately as I have been favouring the paintbrush.

Art is such a passion for me, how can I only explore one medium!!!
