Thankyou for visiting my online art gallery.
After having a 15 year career in fashion design and bridal wear I decided I was ready for a new challenge in the arts.
In 2003, while pregnant with my son I started oil painting, This was a welcome relief and very relaxing, painting for hours in my own little world of imagination.
In June 2006 I discovered pastels!! What a delight it was and an awesome discovery to find my passion!!! Pastels to me opened many new doors in what I could create , and gave me an avenue to release this pent up artistic side that had been waiting within.........
Pastels have amazing colours and blend so well. They are wonderful for skin tones in portraits, and make beautiful deep blue skys! Fantastic fur for pet portraits with the versatility of the pastel pencils, where detail is very easily achieved.
For really detailed work I also enjoy using Prismacolor pencils. My "Contented Kitty "was an example of this medium.
Charcoal is also a wonderful medium I really enjoy using, messy!!!! but so lucious to work with. When Charcoal and white pastel are used together it is amazing the effects you can discover.
