Pastel painting on art spectrum paper. This lion was originally a full lion, but I was so much into detail that it was taking too long to finish... So!!! after much thinking I decided to chop his half finished body off and just do his handsome head. He is very regal looking, yes, I would have a fluttering heart if I was a lioness right now....

I spent the whole day totally absorbed in this little guy. I love this medium to paint with, being my second watercolour.. Sorry pastels, you will have to stay dormant for a little while longer!!!!
These gorgeous birds are very common where I live in Australia. I see them every day, they are very gentle birds with an amazing laugh which I usually hear early in the mornings as the sun rises. The beautiful sound of the Aussie bush!! is the kookaburra's laugh.

This guy was done using pastel pencils. Derwents, Pitts and CarbOrthellos. As it is painted on black stonehenge , I actually never used any black in the painting, but utilized the black paper which worked wonders......
