This beautiful lady was originally painted by a woman called Helen Wessels Henry. She grew up in the USA and later travelled to Paris to study with the well known artists as Bertha Morrisot and Edgar Degas, who were well known pastelists. She painted the original of this in the 1940's. How wonderful it would have been to paint along side such artists. I adore this painting and had to do my own version.... Pastel portrait of "Ben" This was one of the very first portraits I have painted.. I look with eyes more skilled now and pick my mistakes, but am glad that this lovingly hangs on the wall of a dear friend of mine... :)
